I’m going to share what protein supplements I have taken/currently take, and find to be the best in terms of overall quality
**But before I start, as I have recommended before, it is BEST to get the MAJORITY (if not ALL) of your protein from whole foods**
But, I get it…We all have our busy lifestyles and don’t have time to prepare healthy foods on a daily basis, so this is a convenient and inexpensive option that is the next best thing in my opinion…
***This first grouping is the most popular and economical vegan protein supplements.***
Sunwarrior Warrior Blend:
Protein Sources: Pea, Hemp, Coconut, Goji
Overall Opinion: I’ve gone through several tubs of this product over the years, and it is one of my favorites. It mixes quite well and is one of the most economical for such high-quality organic ingredients.
Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein:
Protein Sources: Pea, Rice, Amaranth Sprout, Buckwheat Sprout, Millet Sprout, Chlorella, Quinoa Sprout, Chia Seed Sprout, Garbanzo Bean Sprout, Lentil Sprout, Adzuki Bean Sprout, Flax Seed Sprout, Sunflower Seed Sprout, Pumpkin Seed Sprout, Sesame Seed Sprout
Overall Opinion: The protein blend in this is crazy! I have had this product several times, and although it is a bit gritty, I definitely felt more satiated compared to other vegan protein supplements.
Vega Sport Performance Protein:
Protein Sources: Pea, Pumpkin Seed, Sunflower Seed, Alfalfa
Overall Opinion: This is one of the best tasting vegan proteins I have come across. It mixes very well, and also contains tart jerry and turmeric, to help combat inflammation.
***This second grouping are a bit more expensive but have a unique ingredient blend, which inherently provides more overall health benefits that the first group, in my opinion.***
Healthforce Elite Green Cool Protein:
Protein Sources: Spirulina and Chlorella
Overall Opinion: I am literally about to order this product right now! I have not tried it yet, but I am an avid user of Spirulina and Chlorella, as they have some amazing benefits. These algae provide the body with tons of micronutrients, help alkalize/detoxify the body, boost immunity, the list goes on.
I have heard that this is not the best tasting (obviously) but health trumps taste for me!
SoTru Organic Protein:
Protein Sources: Brown Rice, Quinoa, Amaranth, Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Himematsutake, Turkey Tails, Chlorella, Spirulina
Overall Opinion: All those unfamiliar names are actually medicinal mushrooms! There are countless benefits to these various mushrooms, and it’s great to see such powerful medicinal foods in a vegan protein supplement!
It is not the best-tasting stuff, but once again, health trumps taste any day!
